FIONA YEANG

LL.B, Solicitor

Fiona has some 20 years of experience as a lawyer specialising in construction and infrastructure projects in Europe, India, Asia and Australia, including roads, water, wastewater, power stations, mines, process plants, airports and rail infrastructure. She advises on contract structuring and risk allocation, and drafts and negotiates contracts for a wide range of procurement options, from relationship contracting to Public Private Partnerships.

Before moving to Australia in 2000 when she joined Blake Dawson Waldron's Brisbane office, Fiona was a senior lawyer at a major London law firm, where she led negotiations for a number of projects under the UK Government's PFI scheme. Fiona has advised on procurement and contract strategies for infrastructure projects in the UK, Asia, the Middle East and India.

In Australia she has specialised particularly in water infrastructure projects and relationship contracting. Her recent clients include Gold Coast Water and Gold Coast City Council, Brisbane Water, Southern Regional Water Pipeline Company, Department of Defence, Coffs Harbour City Council, Citiwater, Toowoomba City Council and Mackay City Council.

Fiona is a member of the Brisbane Water Advisory Board.
